Sometimes the Police Can Get it Wrong

Yesterday our clients in Hertfordshire had been suspected of carrying a firearm following a call to the police from an unknown person.

No firearm was found despite a vigorous search being carried of both individuals and the car. The police dog was also used as part of the search.

Our clients had been arrested and taken into police custody. On receiving their legal rights they requested Newgate Solicitors to represent them

This was a harrowing ordeal for our clients who were detained by an armed response unit with guns pointing at them.

Highlighting the importance of complying with the police in this given scenario is very important as quite easily this could have been a very different outcome.

Our clients remained calm and sort legal advice and their first given opportunity.

Following interview they had been released well in advance of the 24 hour pace clock time limit.

Sometimes the police can get it wrong and thankfully on this occasion nobody was hurt or charged with any criminal offence
